Synopsis of "Superhero, Inc."

When superheroes need to earn a living, rescue insurance is big business. Superhero, Inc. is the megacorporation where they work, complete with investors and lobbyists who grease the wheels from inside the beltway. Superheroes are the ultimate celebrity; mythic national heroes that combine the popularity of top athletes with the fame of Hollywood stars. Only licensed superheroes can work and only Superhero, Inc. can issue licenses. Superheroes from the non-profit age use the courts to fight the privatization of their livelihood and ask the question – is altruism dead?

Follow the exploits of The Shroud, an enigmatic superhero on a secret mission; American Icon, the indestructible top earner and quintessential playboy; Ms. Titanium, the most over worked and under appreciated; Major America, kicking ass since the War of Independence, plus many more. When the super villains begin to tear apart New York City and share prices plunge, all superheroes are sucked into the fray. Only The Invisible Hand, the world’s oldest and most mysterious super villain, quietly awaits a profitable end. It takes a few lifetimes to be a great capitalist.
